Carry the Burden - 2400 Yorkshire Tea teabags for 24 hours · 29 May 2021

Throughout May, we are asking our supporters to carry an item for a full 24 hours, to represent the invisible burden that people with mental health difficulties carry every single day, and to raise vital funds for Mind in Bradford.

Story

I'm carrying the burden with Mind in Bradford this May in recognition of the invisible burden that people with Mental Health difficulties carry every single day.

I've chosen to carry 2400 Yorkshire Tea teabags as an additional reminder to us all of the importance of checking in with our friends - a cup of tea and a chat can make all the difference!

Teabags might sound light and easy to carry, but this many teabags weighs in at 6.5kg - that's the same as 14 pints of water, or 6 bottles of wine, and let's not forget that I have the upper body strength of a toddler.

To stay on the Yorkshire theme I'll be including a trek up Whernside in my 24 hours, which is the highest mountain in the Yorkshire Dales at 736m!

Please consider donating and support Mind in Bradford. They provide invaluable services to the local community, ensuring that no one in our city, towns and streets has to struggle with a mental health problem alone.
