Given the recent devastation seen in Pakistan with the terrible floods sweeping homes and families away, Luton Lions Running Club will be hosting a variety of events to support the people of Pakistan.
This fundraiser is for the trek from Luton to the Pakistan Embassy in London which will be approximately 30 miles.
The following people have taken this challenge up:
Naheem Aslam, Sufian Sadiq, Rizvan Khan, Faisal Shafiq, Shafqat Shabir (Slough), Mohsin Sadiq (Slough), Mohammed Jameel (Slough), Kasar Dad, Mehboob Ahmed (Mabz), Dr Monjour, Hanan Ali, Shahed Koyes, Kamal Hussain, Sujel Miah, Mohammed Salim and Aminur Rahman.
According to Pakistan's Disaster Management Authority, the death toll from ravaging monsoon floods in Pakistan has surpassed 1,000, in the wake of a deluge described as a “humanitarian disaster of epic proportions”.
Alkhidmat Pakistan is UKIM’s delivery partner in Pakistan. It is the biggest NGO working in Pakistan. AlKhidmat staff and volunteers are currently working tirelessly on the ground providing relief in flood affected areas.
The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Whoever relieves the hardship of a believer in this world, Allah will relieve his hardship on the Day of Resurrection" (Sahih Muslim 2699).
