Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We have been friends since 2003 when we met playing for Rosslyn Park rugby club.
12 years later, and with Phil, a father himself, and with Luke's work on the paediatric bone tumour ward at the John Radcliffe hospital, we found our inspiration to raise money for children with cancer and the London Marathon seemed a great opportunity to do that.
To make this challenge that bit harder in order to try and raise as much money as possible, we agreed (perhaps in a moment of madness!) to run a half marathon to the start, turn around, and then run the London Marathon (yes, that is over 40 miles ..!) Whilst dressed as superheroes. Without collapsing through exhaustion.
Neither of us have approached anyone for sponsorship in the past and this is really a tough challenge. Running on cold, windy nights after work is neither glamorous nor fun BUT it is for a great cause and it will hopefully raise lots of money for our chosen charity, Children with Cancer (http://www.childrenwithcancer.org.uk/)
So we’d like you to sponsor us to drag ourselves around the 65 km we have mapped out. We would, also, like your suggestions of which superheroes you’d like us to go as.
We are aiming to raise £5000 so, if you can be one of the people to sponsor us, then between friends, family and work colleagues, we’ll get there. It’ll be the inspiration we will need to get round what promises to be a really tough day running!
