Story
Fairtrade changes the way trade works through better prices, decent working conditions and a fairer deal for farmers and workers in developing countries. They are working to minimise the impact of this crisis on the world’s poorest and most vulnerable communities.
Members of the Ludlow Fairtrade Town Group have put together a virtual garden tour entitled ‘Reflections From the Garden’. The recent lockdown has given us all time both to enjoy our gardens and to reflect on those who are less fortunate than us.
We have all been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, but we must not forget that those who are most vulnerable have been hit the hardest. The farmers and workers who produce our daily commodities are some of the most vulnerable and the least prepared for a pandemic, and the future of their livelihoods is greatly insecure. We rely on many of these workers for our clothes, coffee, tea, bananas, chocolate and flowers – to name just a few.
We hope you feel able to support the unseen key workers, whose livelihoods are threatened by Covid-19.
