Every 21 seconds, a child dies from a water-related illness...

As many of you know, Lukas has had an ambition to raise money to fund a water tower in a country where there is limited access to water.  He is hopeful to support a Humanitarian group that works with communities in Sub-Saharan Africa.

 

As he explains, "all children should have clean water to drink and to be able to clean themselves."

"Water helps people to think and to concentrate."

 

This cause has motivated him to raise money for many charities over the years and continues to keep water at the focus of his efforts.  Most recently, he contributed £320 to Save the Children to fund a water pump.  He wants to help children in a school to have regular access to water.

Clean Water & Sanitation for a Kenyan Primary School

In 2011, the Horn of Africa experienced one of the most severe droughts in over 60 years.  KRA works with communities throughout Kenya to provide technologies that will increase their resilenciy to the effects of climate change and drought.  Matuiku Primary School has no running water and substandard sanitation facilities.  By providing a rainwater storage tank, farm pond with drip irrigation, improved latrines and capacity building this project will improve the health and education of 137 pupils.
