Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have borrowed a rowing machine from my beloved gym, and in May I'm planning to row the equivalent of the Irish Sea North Channel crossing between Northern Ireland and the Mull of Galloway, which is 35km or 22 miles. Given my health problems, I felt an attempt at the Atlantic or even the English Channel might be biting off more than I could chew...
I hope to raise £100 for Arts Emergency, who are launching an appeal for their Community Programme having spoken to their 824 young community members and learnt more about the devastating effect the Coronavirus crisis is having on them and their families. So many young people from working class backgrounds or those without a history of higher education in the family will go from lockdown to locked out, right when we desperately need their new ideas, their optimism, their sense of possibility and their fearlessness.
Arts Emergency aim is to raise £20,000 for their Community Programme, to provide an extra layer of support and bolster the team that organises all of their work experiences, free ticket programmes, paid opportunities, progression mentoring, networking events, training workshops and youth campaigning.
This charity means a lot to me, and anything you can give will be very, very welcome!
