Story
On November 4th I will be heading to Nepal for a month long expedition to climb the infamous Ama Dablam 6812m. I'll be doing this to support a charity called UCEP https://ucepcommunity.org/
My friend Charles has been personally funding the eduction of children in West Africa since I met him 10 years ago and probably started long before that. This year he has founded UCEP, a UK registered charity created to provide eduction and hope to communities struggling against poverty.
We are so lucky to live in the UK and have free eduction and sometimes forget what privileged lives we have. Children in West Africa have to pay to attend school and many talented children cannot afford this. The cost to send a child to school for a whole term is roughly £25 so any donation makes a huge difference.
Ama Dablam which is known as the jewel of the Himalaya is just that. Technically harder than Everest and taking a month to climb it will be the toughest challenge I've ever faced. I'll be facing temperatures as low as -30C and come up against climbs that will make my knees knock.
Thank you for reading and please donate anything you can as it will make a huge difference.
