Story

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for taking time to visit Lonzo’s just giving page.

We have planned to celebrate Lonzo’s 1st Birthday along side his Christening on Saturday 2nd October and are excited to share this special day with you all.

As Lonzo is a very lucky boy and already has lots of toys and other essentials, we wanted to do something different gift wise and raise money for Gloucestershire’s Scoo-B-Doo charity, as their cause is so close to our hearts.

As most people know, Lonzo was born nearly 6 weeks premature and spent the first 3 weeks of his life in Gloucester Royal Hospitals Neonatal unit. He was a very lucky boy and only needed to remain in hospital to get his blood sugars to a good level and to grow nice and strong.

The whole experience for us and as first time parents, was traumatic and we were so lucky to be supported by the incredible staff and volunteers within the unit. Whilst we were there, we learnt about this Charity and how it was founded by other parents in Gloucester who themselves  had dealt with having a premature baby. They decided to set the Charity up to help towards costs of vital new neonatal equipment to ease the ever growing strain on the NHS and help to save tiny and ill babies lives.

From day one, the charity has been actively fundraising to provide this equipment and essential items. Over 80% of the equipment used on the ward every day has been funded by Scoo-B-Doo, helping to ensure the babies are given the best possible care. 100% of every donation goes to help the wards tiny patients and their families.

We are absolutely not expecting gifts for Lonzo or even donations, but we wanted to set this page up incase anyone wanted to support this incredible charity with us. Every single donation is valuable.

Thank you so much,

Katie & Brenton
