Story
This year we were planning to hold our final 2021 London City Voices Christmas Concert in aid of Dreams Come True. It's a national children's charity, whose mission is to enrich the lives of children & young people with serious and life-limiting conditions, by making their dreams come true. However, we felt that in order to help curb the spread of Omicron, cancelling the concert was the right thing to do.
Instead we're holding a live virtual event at the same time as the in-person one was planned, and we'll also be sharing a live virtual video - not one created by video & audio editing like we did last time, but this time using a programme called Jamulus, which allows people to sing together online in real time.
Charity collections have really suffered from the pandemic - even just the lack of cash has made a huge difference! To give an example - usually we collect at stations over Christmas and would normally get £1200-2000 in about 90 minutes of singing. The one time we were able to collect this year, we collected £471 in the same amount of time.
So please give generously to this great charity this year. We appreciate it very much.
