Story
On the 11th of March I will be attempting to run the Half Marathon at Silverstone to raise money for a extremely worthy charity, DEBRA.
DEBRA is the national charity working on behalf of individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a rare genetic condition which causes the skin to blister and shear at the slightest friction, or even spontaneously. Heartbreakingly, this means that mothers cannot comfort their children by hugging them, or picking them up as their skin will merely rip or blister. EB is currently an incurable skin condition, yet, only £75 could fund half a day of research to help find an effective treatment.
As many of you know, I am not a particularily keen runner. I will never be the next Paula Radcliffe in terms of the time in which I finish, but my reasons for doing this go far beyond person achievement. I am very fortunate and grateful for the life I have and therefore my aim is to raise as much money as I possibly can in the hope that there will soon be a cure for this traumatic skin condition.
I will LOVE you all the MOST for donating! xxxxx
