Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Our daughter, Lauren, was a typical cheeky beautiful and healthy thirteen year old girl. Then she caught the flu, which then turned to sepsis. One minute she was led on the settee at home, watching Modern Family and complaining about the flavour of Lucozade she had been bought, less than 12 hours later she was fighting for her life at Alder Hey. A fight that unfortunately she was to lose, less than six days later.
We intend to run various fundraising initiative this year. The first one booked, by Lauren's dad, Chris, is the Adventure Championship Triathlons. This is a series of 3 unforgettable mixed terrain triathlons, viewed as some of the toughest in the country. A once in a lifetime experience (at least he hope's so!) The series consists of:
- Slateman Triathlon: Listed by 220Tri Magazine as one of the best in the world. 11th June Llanberis 1.5km swim, 49.6km bike, 11.5km run
- Snowman Triathlon: Not only the toughest event in the Adventure Championship series, but known as the toughest event in the UK. 30th July Capel Curig. 1.5km swim, 69.2km bike, 8.4km run,
- Sandman Triathlon: The final part, and describes as one of the most beautiful settings in the race calendar. 10th September Newborough Forest. 1.5km swim, 58.6km bike, 10km run

Not wanting Chris to take all the glory (?) I've now signed up, with my long suffering friend Heather, to our own adrenaline event. We are not huge fans of the Trafford Centre, so instead of shopping on Saturday 24th June we've agreed to Abseil off the Palazzo Roof, a mere 170ft!! Anyone who knows us will appreciate the fact that we are more likely to trip and fall rather than descend gracefully - that's got be worth the price of a pint.

Sepsis Research FEAT was established in 2013. It was born out of the experience of our founder, a sepsis survivor who also suffered terrible personal loss from a condition that has been called the ‘hidden killer’.
At the heart of our charity is the funding of world-leading research designed to improve outcomes for sepsis patients and their families and to save lives – here in the UK and across the world.
Huge progress has already been made. More is urgently needed.
Please support us in our vision to #stopsepsisnow.
