Story
When you have the opportunity to make a positive difference in someone’s life - take it.
The support given to my sister in law, Caroline, by HCCN(Hunts Community Cancer Network)has been fantastic and doubly so during the ‘unprecedented times’ in which we find ourselves. A cancer diagnosis at any time in your life is frightening, at the start of a pandemic it becomes unimaginable.
I have the opportunity to make a difference for HCCN. About 3 years when I took up running the thought of doing that ‘Saturday 9am Run’ was a challenge - oh how things escalate quickly when you get bitten by the running bug. In 2022 I reach the age of first contact from Saga - I hit the big 50!
January 22 2022 I will be undertaking the Peddars Way in it’s entirety, accompanied as always by my amazing running partner Malcolm. We will be running the 48 miles of this ancient roadway from Thetford to Holme on Sea. I’m not ashamed to admit it is going to be hard work , both mentally and physically(I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome type 3).
With luck we won’t break ourselves too much or for too long and then we will continue to run races through the year. We have the very local Bedford and Cambridge Half Marathons to run and I am sure there will be some further runventuring throughout the year.
This will hopefully take me to 1000 miles for the year and more importantly £1000.
Please consider sponsoring me £1 for one of my miles in order that we can help Caroline and others take on their journey with the support of HCCN
Thank you
