Story

Hi

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page - I really appreciate it! All donations are extremely welcomed we have organised other activities to raise funds prior to the London Marathon on 25th April 2010. With less than 5 days to go the biggest worries now (that the fundraising is over) is how Fraser & I get down - we are booked on a flight on Thursday but all depends on the ash - as well as what to wear on the day! My SSPCA t-shirt & vest are black so it really depends on the weather - running in black cotton on a warm day is not recommended!

 Fundraising has included:

 -   Quiz Night on Sat 6th February - made over £400*

 -   Table Top Sale (Indoor Car Boot Sale) on Sat 13th February - made £260*

 -   Bag Packing on Sun 14th February - made over £800*

 -   Charity Disco on Friday 12th March - made over £950*

If you want more information on any of these events then please email me on liza_linton@sky.com

*These totals are to be split appropriately between the Scottish SPCA (Liza's charity) and Help the Hospices (Jackie's charity)!

Why are we doing this?

Jackie & I have been jogging & running together for the past 4 years - since just after the birth of her first child Hannah - and we have undertaken several 10K, fun runs and half marathons. Our dad, Chris, is often to be found helping us both out with our training, and I have been training with Strathaven Striders too.

Jackie & I decided a couple of years ago to try to tackle the London Marathon - our biggest challenge yet - but unfortunately we didn't get in through the ballot. This year, whilst running the Women's 10K in May with our friend Louise (Simpson), we agreed to enter the 2010 Marathon but decided that we would like to raise money for charity - I am running for Scottih SPCA and Jackie is running for 'Help the Hospices' - and together we have to raise £3500.

Why the Scottish SPCA?

As an animal charity the Scottish SPCA receives no government or lottery funding and relies entirely on public donations to continue their vital work - protecting Scotland's abandoned, neglected and defencelesss animals. As the owner of 2 dogs (Austin & Ronan) I am extremely passionate about animals and their welfare, therefore I am delighted to be accepted as one of the Scottish SPCA's Golden Bond Runners for the 2010 London Marathon and I plan to raise as much money as possible.

Donating through JustGiving

It is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So although it's not the only way I am raising money, it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
