We are getting married in May thanks to meeting at the Hospiscare bereavement support group!

Hospiscare has given us and our families amazing support so we are asking people to please donate money to this wonderful local charity instead of giving us wedding presents. We don’t need toasters or kettles!

We popped into the hospice to tell them our news and they were so thrilled to hear our good news they organised a little celebration for us as you can see in the photos.

Having both spent many weeks at the hospice we experienced the wonderful care the doctors, nurses and all the staff gave to our spouses and our families. We want to help others experience this too.

My wife Barbara was so happy at the hospice. If anybody could say that they had a happy ending she did. A lot of people are scared of coming here but it’s a beautiful, happy place.

Hospiscare don’t just look after the patient, they also look after the family. Hospiscare is the only charity we now support.

Hospiscare doesn’t just provide help at its 12 bed hospice, it also has a day care centre where patients regularly attend for a day out, a lovely lunch, complementary therapies, emotional support and a chance to talk to people in the same circumstances as themselves. They can also talk to doctors and nurses if they have any medical concerns.

Of course they also run bereavement support groups, where we met! Hospiscare also has 28 community nurses helping people in their own homes, as well as running day hospices in Tiverton and Honiton.
