Liv's Warwick in Africa

Warwick in Africa · 17 February 2023
I am very excited to announce that I am participating in the Warwick in Africa programme for a second time! This year, I am honoured to be returning to the programme as a Team Leader where I will be taking my team to Mpumalanga, South Africa where we will deliver English and Maths lessons to our students.
Warwick in Africa is a philanthropically-funded programme that aims to support the educational experiences of young learners across schools in Africa. Our student volunteers receive extensive training and collaborate with Lead Teachers in our partner schools to co-deliver English and Maths lessons to secondary school students across South Africa and Ghana.
Many classroom settings in Africa are under-resourced and overcrowded, teachers often lack basic training and this can lead to underperformance in the classroom. So I am raising the money to send volunteer teachers to Africa to provide better education standards and help them achieve their academic goals. English and Maths skills are huge liberators from poverty and will help our students progress in life beyond their potential.
Your donations contribute to the necessary training and resources provided to our Lead Teachers and Student Volunteers and helps fund our 6-week placements in Africa. In past years, volunteer teachers have helped create a fun, enriching learning environment and have successfully improved the English and Maths grades of the students we work with. Aside from this, we provide them with memorable, life-changing experiences that they will cherish for life.
Last time, I raised £1210 towards the programme, so lets aim high and raise another £1000 this year to keep the programme running and continue transforming the lives of thousands of children across Africa! The programme has made an astonishing impact for over 5000 teachers and 130,000 students since it was founded in 2006. Your contributions ensure these numbers continue to rise.
No matter how large or small a donation, it can have a huge impact and is greatly appreciated. £10 alone is enough to sponsor a child in school for a whole month!
Thank you for your support and generosity in providing these students with the endless opportunities that they would otherwise lack, and for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page :)
