Hello, I am little Lucy, a West Highland White Terrier, who arrived in the care of Oldies Club in February 2022, when my previous person was no longer able to take care of me. 

As of 8 October, Oldies Club, a volunteer-run charity that rescues and rehomes older dogs in the UK, has spent almost £5,080 on my vet bills, which is a huge amount for a small charity for one dog, especially in these times, but the volunteers who run Oldies Club do their best for each and every dog in their care, making decisions as if they were their very own family dogs.

I'm told Oldies Club has many thousands of supporters, which is lovely. It would be great if lots of dog lovers would support this and help Oldies Club to take care of me.

My veterinary treatment to date has included various vet visits and examinations, along with treatments for my kidneys, my digestion, my skin and my ears! I have recently had a consultation with a specialist where I had X-rays, an ultrasound and some cells removed, which has cost Oldies Club almost £2,085 so far and confirmed I have chronic kidney disease, for which I have been given further medications. 

Despite all of these medical concerns, I have been enjoying life with my lovely fosterers, enjoying my walks and my food and lots of human company. I have even been away to a holiday in a cottage by the sea in beautiful Dorset.

Should Oldies Club supporters be generous enough to donate more than is needed for my vet bills/care, any excess money will be directed to the charity’s general fund and used to help other older dogs in its care.
