Story
Nathan was born on Friday 30th October 2015.
30 hours after birth it was discovered Nathan had a congenital heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). The heart condition is made up of 4 separate heart defects.
Nathan was admitted to The Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow for open heart surgery in February 2016. After more than 14 hours and following some complications Nathan was put onto life support (ECMO) which allowed for his safe removal from surgery. Following this Nathan was moved into the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and spent the following 10 weeks fighting various issues. He finally turned a corner and was moved to the Cardiology Unit at ward 1E to continue his recovery. After 3 months in hospital Nathan was finally allowed home.

Nathan was also born with a cleft palate (soft) and had further surgery to have his mouth fully repaired. He continues to require on-going care to assist with speech development by specialists.
Nathan was admitted again November 2018 and after further open heart surgery he is currently being cared for in Ward 1E of the Royal Hospital for Children.
