Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I ran the GNR in 2012 for MS and (possibly) in a moment of madness signed up for the ballot for the 2017 run, not thinking I would get a place and guess what I got a place, weyhey me!! Now I'm thinking not much time to train, but train I will. I may not have as much time as I did for the 2012 run but I will look to beat my PB!!
A very good friend suffers from MS although thankfully right now he is doing well (and long may that continue) however, as you may know there is no cure at present for this. There have been some positive steps made in some treatment options however this is not suitable for everyone and we need to continue to raise funds to keep this vital research going. There is now stem cell research taking place which is promising however funds remain necessary for this vital research to take place.
There are many worthy charities however not only do I have a friend currently dealing with this, I have two friends who lost their mother when they were very young. Although MS was not why she died it was a contributing factor. They spent a lot of their childhood helping to care for their mother rather than having a 'normal' childhood.
Last time I ran the GNR I had quite a bit training - this time I have mere months to get back to fitness, having not really ran for a few years now - so all your support and encouragement will spur me on! I will not give up I can promise you that - those of you who know me will know I am pretty stubborn!!
