Story
When my daughter Evelyn was diagnosed with metastatic sarcoma earlier this year, it was a time of fear, grief and uncertainty. This charity was the first to offer support to all of us: special experiences for Evelyn and her little sister Mae, therapy for Mae and a network of other parents to share experiences with. Activities at the support centre have been the highlight for us between difficult treatments. Although Evelyn is coming to the end of first-line treatment, there will be many challenges for our family ahead. I know Joshua Tree will be a constant source of support for us as we continue to navigate life with cancer.
Evelyn's chemotherapy protocol will be finishing at the end of November. She will be shaving my head at this time so that we can rock our grow-out styles together.
The Joshua Tree is a Cheshire based Children's Cancer Charity. We operate across the North West and North Wales and are dedicated to working closely with families affected by childhood cancers. We tailor the services to suit the family’s specific needs, by means of emotional, academic and practical support, such as counselling, art and play therapy, health and well-being advice, support in and around the home and educational tutoring where required to help ensure that life remains as normal as possible during an incredibly traumatic time.
