As a mother of 3 beautiful children, one of whom developed epilepsy at the age of 4 years, I understand the major impact this condition can have on the whole family.

Medically my daughter was well cared for and fortunately has been seizure free for 5 years. The Epic aim of offering emotional counselling and a network of support to help families is invaluable.  Side effects of drugs and seizure activity has a huge impact on behaviour and emotions which affect the whole family.

Also, the aim to purchase diagnostic equipment for our local hospital would go a long way to helping families who currently have to travel to Bristol, Oxford, Birmingham and London.  We travel to Oxford for EEG tests on a regular basis and have had input from specialists in London on alternative epilepsy therapies.  Having the option to have testing done locally would be so much easier for everyone involved.
