Story
When I went to my first SAY event my heart bust open. The amazing humans who run this organization are doing life changing work to support kids who stutter. I had no idea that stuttering leads to isolation, bullying, shame and embarrassment. These kids are often not given the patience, compassion and understanding to fully express themselves and to have a voice in school or with their peers. SAY honors these young people in ways that brings life, love, friendship, confidence and voice to their lives. When I witnessed the magnitude of passion and love expressed and received, as well as the impact they have on so many young peoples lives I had to jump in and support them. Please join me on Friday and let me know if your heart is burst open as well. I wish we could be together in person but this on line platform is the next best thing. See you there!
SAY: The Stuttering Association for the Young is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides support, advocacy, and life-changing experiences for young people who stutter, ages 3-18. Since 2001, SAY has offered comprehensive and innovative programs that address the physical, social, and emotional impacts of stuttering. Through summer camp, regional day camps, speech therapy, and creative arts programming, SAY builds a community of acceptance, friendship, and encouragement where young people who stutter can develop the confidence and communication skills they need to thrive. In these trying times, we are seeing widespread suspension of many vital services. Young people who stutter are at genuine risk of suffering the same fate. More than ever, SAY is wholeheartedly dedicated to our mission and determined to keep this essential community HERE and available for EVERY child who stutters.Join us for our first-ever LIVE Virtual Benefit on May 15, 2020, at 6:00 PM EST!
