Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As a lot of you know I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in December 2020 and began treatment in early 2020 11 rounds of chemo and 5 weeks of Monday to Friday Radiotherapy followed by a last course of internal Radiation. I returned to work in September 2021 keen to get back to normal awaiting my next scan to see how the treatment worked….

Nov/Dec 2021 I received great news from the oncologist ‘no active signs of any cancer cells’ and rescan after 3 months, but they wanted a PetCT scan for a more in depth look. Unfortunately, that scan showed that I had a few more cells that have popped up and again I am back on the Chemo plan. My first round was 3 weeks ago and this weekend my hair true to form, started to fall out again.

Last year I had no control, hairdressers in lock down, uncomfortable not knowing what to do…. This time I’m taking control and having it shaved off Thursday  10th March 2022, no more running my fingers through my hair and pulling a wad out…. Waking up on a bed of hair on my pillow and left in the awkward phase of clumps still left holding on til the last second and looking well quite frankly just that little bit odd!!!

So technically it’s going anyway but I hope some of you will support me in this decision and give what you can to these amazing charities that try to raise awareness and stamp out the disease and the heartache, uncertainty, pain and misery it causes 100’s/1000’s  of women and families it effects!

Thank you for reading xx
