Virgin London Marathon 2011 · 17 April 2011 ·
Well, for those of you who don't already know, having applied for the last four years, I have finally managed to secure a place to run the London Marathon on Sunday 17th April 2011.
Getting a place definitely helps focus the mind and gets you off the sofa, that's for sure! It's been a tough few months of training - dragging my ageing body out to run distances that most sensible people would only consider doing in a car! Not to mention the disruption to my family's life and the feeling that life revolves around my training plan! Thanks to Matt, Hannah, Jack & Nathan for all their support, especially joining me for the last few miles of those very long training runs!
However, as race day fast approaches it's time to make sure that someone at least gains from my pain! So, I have decided to fundraise for the Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund - a disaster which has been uppermost in most people's minds over recent weeks. Whilst watching the TV footage it's easy to feel helpless but by donating through this page, you can make a difference. No matter whether the donation is big or small, 'if we all give a little, we can achieve a lot'!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, please take a few moments to donate now.
