BEATING BOUNDARIES – THE JOURNEY BEGINS

 

In May 2013 Linda Bishop will be beating formidable boundaries to raise £25,000.00 for specialist Complementary Therapy equipment at St Michael’s Hospice in Hereford and needs your support.

Linda’s journey began in 2011 when she was referred to Day Hospice at St Michael’s Hospicewith recurring Parotid tumours which she had been suffering with since her early 30’s.  Ever the fighter and with the aid of the Hospice’s Complementary Therapies Team, Linda’s gritty determination now sees her back to health.

Linda’s challenge is to raise funds for a new Complementary Therapy suite as part of the Hospice Redevelopment by beating the boundaries of both the entire county of Herefordshire on foot - and her own cancer.  She has already been sponsored by a personal trainer to ensure her health and fitness are up to the task ahead.

In her own words: ‘While everyone knows of the vital work the In-Patient unit does at St Michael’s I want this walk to raise awareness of the importance of the Out-Patient service and these excellent complementary therapies that have helped me so much.’

This unique walk will take place from 6 – 26 May 2013 starting and ending at Kington with Linda walking approximately 10 miles a day across varied terrain.   The mission is nearly 200 miles and will take three weeks to complete.
