This Christmas, #TeamLIMA are fundraising for the Young Carers and Shine project which is run by the Gaddum Centre. Gaddum is a Manchester-based charity which was established over 180 years ago. 

Young carers are aged 5-18 and have the responsibility of caring for someone who may have an illness, a disability, poor mental health or be tackling drug or alcohol addiction.  Young carers have to juggle these responsibilities which are usually expected of adults alongside their education. 

A staggering 47% of young carers are unhappy with their mental health*. Donations can provide up to 12 sessions of tailored support per young carer with a worker based on their individual needs. Donations will also fund group trips which are fun and provide respite and socialisation for Young Carers such as trips to the circus.  

We hope our donations will help to support the well-being of young carers, to ensure they can continue their education so they can work towards a bright future!
