Help us to print and distribute children’s books on Amarna and its heritage
From 2017–20, the University of Cambridge and Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities worked with local communities at Amarna to co-produce an Arabic-English children’s book. Designed for children aged 7–11 and their teachers, and beautifully illustrated throughout, the book explores daily life in ancient and modern Egypt.
There has been enormous demand for the book at Amarna. In recent months, we’ve distributed nearly 1000 books to local children and families, but many have missed out on a copy. We ask for your help to print additional copies, which will be provided free of charge to communities in Middle Egypt.
GBP2000- will allow us to print around 1500 copies of the book in Cairo, and transport them to Amarna.
