My Story -
Hi, I'm Liam, I am 18 years old and I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease at 15 years old. This lead to me missing my last year of school and being home tutored in order to pass my GCSE's (which I did :)
Even though my biggest goal is to raise as much money as I can to support Crohn's and Colitis UK. It would be absolutely amazing if I could get contacted by DYNAMO, he is someone I look up to because he didn't let his crohns get in the way of his future. He made me believe that my crohns wasn't going to stop me from doing anything I wanted to do in life. I would also love to be sponsored by my idol Ed Sheeran, even if it s a pound I will be more than happy. I would appreciate it if everyone could help me get my message across to him as his music helped me through my tough times.
I had to have surgery for an abscess and then again as I had a fistula. I'm still on medication and I've had a couple of flare ups that required further treatment. At 15 years old I should have been out socialising with my friends not lying in my bed so ill I couldn't get up.
On a positive note, I'm currently in my second year of college studying computing and hope to have a career in this field. I'm determined not to let this disease hold me back and I'm a much more positive and confident person for all that I've been through.
Crohn's and colitis UK are a charity that aims to improve the lives of people affected by IBD. There is currently no cure for these debilitating conditions but all money raised will go towards medical research and health services for affected people.
There is a desperate need for funding as almost all the money they receive comes from fundraising and donations. Crohn's and Colitis UK are dedicated to finding a cure and fund clinical research that they hope will achieve this.
Thanks for your support
