We make it an easier option for men to take positive action than to suicide

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I've decided to raise some money for charity. Amid this pandemic I've seen that many people have been raising money for the NHS and other charities which has been great to see. I'm going to go for a different approach and raise money for mental health, specifically towards the prevent of Sucide of young males.

With the corona virus some peoples mental health would have been and has been effected for sure and probably lead to an increase in cases. With the uk and Australia already having too high a number in male suicides each year, particularly in young males, every bit of help is needed to help fund charities to help with the lack of resources needed to cope. Obviously we don't want the numbers to keep on raising.

This subject is obviously very close to my heart as some of you know I and we lost 2 very close mates of mine Harry dance this time 2 years ago and Paul Arnold tragically in the same year. So I'm doing it in memory of them and to help put a stop to anymore cases like theirs.

Since Harry's charity golf day was postponed I've been thinking about how I could raise some money as this day would have raised a tremendous amount and I didn't want to see the charity miss out.

So the one thing that was precious to Harry was his long locks of hair. So I've decided that I'll join him and to do this i won't cut my hair for the rest of the year. I'm already 2 months in and, unlike the uk, barbers are open here in Aus so the temptation is very much there. Ironically they are open to help people with their mental health so they can continue to look presentable let's say. Anyone that knows me I hate having my hair too long and get it cut at least every 4 weeks so it's going to a tough interesting  journey lol.

So people in the uk I will be raising for papyrus as this is the chosen charity by the dance family and spur projects in Australia. Any donations are good donations 1 2 5 10 20 are all welcome. It all adds up in the end. I know people can't donate to everything, there has been lots of fund raising about and for some people times are hard but please give if you are able to. I'm not setting a target as any money is good money in my eyes. Links to both just giving pages are also at the top and bottom of the bio.

Keep an eye out on the group as I'll be posting regular monthly updates of how long it's getting and how much has been raised. Please add to the group and share with your friends and family.

Once the year is up ill obviously be cutting it. I like to think that it will be cutting all the negative aspects of the year out and beginning the new year with a clean slate to grow hoping for better times ahead.

So get donating and sharing.
