We Support all affected by suicide to lead their best life

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Around 9 years ago I lost a great friend, Karl Mullan, to suicide and more recently another friend, Jeremy Freeman a.k.a Big Jerm, in the US. Considering Northern Ireland has the highest suicide rate in the UK so many charities designed to help tackle this problem are self funded relying on donations from people like us. As such I wanted to try and raise some funds in memory of my 2 friends and all those affected by depression and suicide.  Even though one of my friends did not live here it shows that depression and suicide does not respect borders or age, colour, religion, sexual orientation, race etc for that matter. It can affect and impact all of us but we have to start the fight somewhere. So please, if you can donate to support this massively worthwhile charity and I will do my best to finish the marathon on May 7th, Thank you all in advance for your donations, every penny is hugely appreciated.

So as you can tell from above Suicide Awareness is a topic close to my heart but over the last few days it took a piece of it that I will never get back. My niece, Bronagh Madden, passed away on Monday 26th March 2018, as a result of suicide.......... she was only 21 and a mother to a lovely 6 month old baby girl........... To use the term heartbroken is an understatement but if the last few days has taught me anything it is the lack of help available through our healthcare system for those dealing with mental illness and as such there is a heavy reliance on charities such as PIPS to fill that void. I am more determined than ever to help this worthwhile and in most cases critical cause. You never know when "you" might need to call on them for help.......... Love you Kiddo XXXX
