Story
Tim Purdy and I are completing a fitness challenge every month in 2021 for some fantastic causes that are close to our hearts.
Starting with a 12 hour bike ride on Friday 29th January, we will tackle some very tough challenges throughout the year, from Coast to Coast bike rides to 10k’s and Yorkshire 3 Peaks to Marathons, it promises to be a physically and mentally tough year, but all for an absolutely excellent cause.
I have chosen the charity, Oakwood Dog Rescue, Hull as they work tirelessly to take in, assess and re-home as many dogs as possible and they need as much support as possible to continue the fantastic work they do, the only way they can continue, is through fundraising. Below is a little about the charity;
It was set up by Gill Williams, initially to support clients who could no longer take care of their dogs for any reason. The charity has since grown and now rescues dogs from around the UK and abroad. Each dog they take in costs a minimum of £190 to take care of, this includes, health checks, vaccinations, worming, flea treatment and neutering. This does not include, staff wages, rent of the kennels or utility bills.
I know it has been a tough year, but please donate as much or as little as you can.
Thank You
