Lewis' Broken Leg 20k Sea Kayak

Lewis Earl-Grant is raising money for Glasgow's Golden Generation

Broken leg 20k Sea Kayak · 22 January 2021

Glasgow's Golden Generation has been providing care and support for those in their autumn years for 70+ years. Our charity aims to improve the quality of life for older adults in Glasgow through support services from our 2 day care centres, clubs, befriending and welfare advice.

Story

As part of GUCFS, I am going to be raising money for GGG through sea kayaking with a broken leg. The plan is to kayak 20k over 4 days in the winter weather without breaking anything else.

Glasgow's Golden Generation, formerly Glasgow Old People's Welfare Association, has been caring in autumn years since 1948. The charity works throughout Glasgow to prevent loneliness, social isolation and poverty in older adults. Services provided by Glasgow's Golden Generation include 3 day care centres, a citywide befriending project, welfare officers and over 100 weekly clubs. In 2018, our platinum anniversary, we aim to reach even more older adults across the city and continue our vital work in the communities of Glasgow.
