Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am about to undertake a huge challenge. It will be to celebrate my 60th Year by raising funds for two charities dear to my heart - Parents Consortium (I have a separate, linked page) and Ellenor, which is recognised as the local expert in caring for people with palliative care needs and for those who are dying. Their focus is enabling people to be cared for and die in their own homes or in nursing homes with care supported and co-ordinated by their specialist teams.

I have self funded my trip so every penny raised will go direct to the two charities. This is a 5-day trek through Iceland's spectacular volcanic landscape and I will hike through mountain gorges, over vast glaciers, across frozen lava fields and around mysterious caves! Highlights of the trek will include climbing to the top of Eyjafjallajökull and (hopefully) spotting the Northern Lights from my hostel in Skógar!
