Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Myself, Jim's daughter Lizzie and his fiancé Wendy are raising funds in memory of Jim for the Central England Rehabilitation Unit in Leamington Spa. Jim had an accident falling from a roof on July 4th 2019. His life was saved by Peterborough Hospital initially then he was sent to Addenbrooks brain injury unit where he spent some time in a coma on life support. After sustaining many injuries including several breaks to his back and neck he recovered enough to be transferred to Kettering Hospital where he continued to recover. In November he went to Leamington Spa. Here he made steady progress, learned to walk again and was looking forward to returning home to Wendy.

Jim was very dear to our hearts and fought so hard to recover from his injuries. He was the perfect patient, never complaining and though he had lost his voice in the accident, he never failed to make the staff and us laugh...even if it was using his iPad which frustrated him like mad. We will never forget the kindness, dedication and caring attitude of the NHS staff on the Chadwick Ward especially the physiotherapy team. We thank them all.
