Story
Year 7 / 8 have been working with international charity Lepra to explore the work being done right now to beat leprosy, a disease that is still destroying lives. Lepra is working in India, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe supporting some of the most vulnerable members of our society.
Students have developed their own exciting fundraising plans and will be taking on a range of challenges to help raise funds for more early diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for those affected by the disease. These include:
- Asking family and friends for an online donation
- Doing some jobs around home; chore, car washing, looking after pets, gardening
- Doing something sponsored - tech free day!
- Organising an online activity - virtual quiz, virtual concert...
- Getting active and doing a run / cycle / bounce / skip / swim
Students will also take part in a fantastic Zumba session on Thursday 10th June
India is currently a facing a Covid-19 crisis; rates of infection are reaching record-high every day, the health care system is collapsing and the death toll is climbing rapidly. Lepra have rolled out a Covid-19 vaccination programme to stop the spread and need your help, now more than ever, to protect the most vulnerable people in our world.
We do hope you will be able to support this project and would like to thank you in advance for helping to give hope back to the children and adults who are desperate for Lepra’s help. For more about the lives being transforming, please visit www.lepra.org.uk
