Story
Edward's Trust have been supporting children and families during serious illness and bereavement for 25 years so we feel they are a worthy choice for our fundraising efforts again this year. We appreciate you get many requests for money in order to support charities but we chose this charity because it is close to the hearts of some of our team members and does not get the publicity that some of the larger charities receive, it therefore relies on the efforts of crazy people like us for help. Thanks for helping us to help them!
The challenge - The Pennine Bridleway runs for 205 miles through fantastically diverse countryside, from the edge of Howgill fells in Cumbria culminating in Middleton in the White Peak area of Derbyshire. It is by no means straightforward as the route traverses a great variety of landscapes from open moorland to steep-sided wooded river valleys and passes through both the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. It includes two extra loops which add their own elements to the route and contribute to making it even more of a challenge. We will be cycling this arduous route over four days and will be challenged by the terrain as much as the distance. Combine this with the unpredictable weather and remember we have NO support vehicle, we carry our kit which makes the adventure that much more of a mental and physical test.
