Story
When vulnerable people are too frightened or too remote to see a doctor, Doctors of the World find and treat them; whether they are refugees, undocumented, or fleeing discrimination or torture. Patients with cancer have been abandoned without palliative care and pregnant women are too afraid to see a doctor. When patients are too afraid to see a doctor, their conditions will worsen, and rather than accessing a GP they will often end up in A&E needing very complex and expensive treatment.
Each year, Doctors of the World's incredible team of volunteer doctors, nurses, midwives and case workers see over 2,000 people who have been scared of, or denied, access to healthcare. We need to keep these vital services running and reach many more people as soon as possible.
Any amount will be greatly appreciated! X
