Story
When I was born I wasn't breathing and went without oxygen for 12 minutes this caused me to suffer Hypoxic Ischaemic Encephalopathy (HIE) stage 2. This means I had a lack of oxygen to my brain and suffered a brain injury from it. My brain injury has caused me to have ataxic cerebral palsy and I have also had epileptic seizures. Some people suffer worse than I did and others much better but there is a lot to be still understood about it.
I was born 6 days overdue and up until the point that I arrived there was no warning of what was going to happen. This left my Mum and Dad struggling to understand what had happened and what the future would hold. Lots of parents like mine have the same story and Peeps are working to make sure parents like these are given as much information as possible as soon as possible after their child has received a diagnosis.
I would like to raise money to help Peeps - HIE support parents like mine so that they can understand that they are not on their own.
