Rosary Month Appeal for the restoration of the Rosary Altar

Donate towards the restoration of the Rosary Altar · 22 October 2020
The Rosary Altar in the Lady Chapel of the church of Our Lady of the Rosary & St Dominic in London is a much-loved place for prayer. As this church is London's Rosary Shrine, this Altar is also the principal focal point for the Shrine, and many pilgrims and visitors have prayed here including the Cardinal and the Apostolic Nuncio. During upcoming repair and restoration works on the church apse and High Altar, the Blessed Sacrament will be moved to the tabernacle on this Rosary Altar.
The Rosary Altar was last restored over 20 years ago, and it still looks resplendent. However, due to damp and flooding issues in this chapel that have now been resolved, the Altar has suffered some damage in recent years: the paintwork is peeling or had flaked off, and some of the gold paint has faded away. I've included some photos in the gallery to show this damage.
This October 2020, in the month of the Holy Rosary, we decided to rectify this, and to repair and restore the entire Rosary Altar. We wanted to do this to honour Our Lady of the Rosary; to provide a peaceful place of light and beauty for prayer, much needed in these dark and difficult times; and to provide a fitting location for the temporary reservation of the Blessed Sacrament. This work is now complete, as shown in the gallery of photos.
I invite you to please help us pay for this work: please make a contribution, however small, to Our Lady of the Rosary's altar, and let your gift be a votive of devotion or thanksgiving or prayer to Our Blessed Mother who has given us her Rosary, her beloved Son, her protection and daily care. Mass will be offered at this Altar for our benefactors, and two lamps burn here perpetually for all friends and benefactors of the Rosary Shrine.
