Story
This is my first time speaking publicly about what has happened to one of my closest friends, Laurie Hogan.
He passed away Saturday 13th June.
Laurie was a talented musician, passionate engineer and an overall great guy that all of his friends were proud to have.
Laurie’s organs were donated and he has helped save others’ lives and help improve the quality of more.
He lives on physically within others, but so long as we remember and appreciate the memories we’ve had with Laurie - he will never truly die.
I am by no means a religious person, but I like to think that he lives on after death within our minds, photos and videos and he’s as alive as he ever was.
He impacted all of us.
Everybody, please look after yourselves. No matter how young and physically fit you are, life can be snatched at any moment. Live life to the fullest, because your time spent here isn’t forever.
Laurie kicked ass during his 22 years, he got a 2:1 Masters of Engineering in Aerospace at Queen’s and he was given a prestigious position as a PhD researcher at Queen’s.
Since Laurie has passed, and he has helped impact the health of others through his organ donations, I thought it would be awesome to let him impact more people who are sick.
I’m holding his Facebook Fundraiser and I’m asking you to donate. Even a pound. I know times are tough.
The charity is the Wallace and Gromit Children’s Charity. I thought this was fitting since W&G are also both top notch engineers and building a rocket from scratch to the moon would have been Laurie’s dream.

“Wallace & Gromit's Children's Charity raises money to improve the lives of sick children in hospitals and hospices throughout the UK, providing a wide range of support to patients, families and staff.”
Thank you all for reading this, I wish you and your loved ones the best of health.
