Story

Birds dont need us, but we need them. They are an essential part of our ecosystem which we need for our own survival. We are destroying the natural world at an unprecedented rate and songbirds cannot evolve quickly enough to adapt and survive. Numbers are crashing and more than half our UK songbirds are threatened or in decline. Can you imagine Spring without the sound of birds? By raising funds through our challenge, you can change this. -You can help us discover essential life-saving solutions through funding scientific research -You can help us raise awareness of the catastrophic situation which nature and songbirds are facing You can help us educate people and share practical advice and resources to protect birds Scientist have warned we are entering the sixth mass extinction. We need to act now to save songbirds.

I am doing this challenge because as a young person I can see the damage humanity is doing to our world and the daily extinctions need to end. Song birds are in dire need of help as displayed in the RSPB big garden bird watch results this year. Song birds bring so much joy to people. So many love early mornings with the dawn chorus. If we don’t fight for these birds the dawn chorus will cease to be. Any donations no matter how big or small will go towards a fantastic cause.
