Hi everyone,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have decided to set myself a challenge, well actually 3 challenges to hopefully raise some money for Education for the Children, an amazing charity in Guatemala.

In a couple of weeks, on 3 consecutive days (15^th, 16^th, 17^th June) I will attempt to do three things I have never done before.

1. Run a half marathon
2. Cycle two marathons
3. Walk a marathon

Quarantine gave me the opportunity to get back on my bike and to give running a go. I have been building up the courage to officially decide to do this challenge, so there’s no going back now.

I thought if I’m going to go for it, I should take the opportunity to raise some money for Education for the Children which is the small charity I worked for during my placement year. Currently, due to Covid-19, they have had to cancel all their fundraising events meaning like many charities they are struggling to make ends meet especially as they have increased their outgoings. Currently, they are supporting the families of all their students with food and basic medicines, who due to the pandemic, cannot work and have no support from the government. The school is working hard to make sure the children have enough to eat and can continue studying from home, which is very difficult as many families have no access to the internet.
I worked with the amazing team for 4 months and saw how resilient and hardworking they are but I also saw the harsh realities that the pupils out there face: extreme poverty, discrimination, and violence. 

So, if you are able to donate, I would be so grateful if you could give whatever you can to help the charity continue to support these children who deserve a right to education, healthcare, psychological support, and adequate nutrition.
