Story
Mum sadly passed away on April 29th in the Royal Hospital. She was admitted with sepsis, but quickly picked up the Covid virus as well. She tried very hard to fight them both, but passed peacefully, despite the hard work and care of the staff in the Royal.
As many of you know, Mum worked in Long Lane Surgery (later to become The Village Surgery) for 35 years. Although she was a Practice Manager, the part of the job which brought her the most joy and satisfaction was to help and support the patients of Garston. She was a listening ear, a trusted friend and colleague to many.
We wanted something positive to come out of Mum's passing, and how better than to find a charity that is local, and can support the people of South Liverpool. Mum was particularly fond of helping cancer patients through their journey. That is why we have chosen The Sunflower Centre. They provide positivity, just as Mum once did, for the people of South Liverpool and their families during their cancer journeys.
Given that during these difficult times, only a small minority of those who knew Mum will be able to attend her funeral, we thought that instead, should you wish, a small donation to The Sunflower Centre could be made in memory of Mum.
