Story
I’ve decided to take on this challenge as Nerve Tumour UK are a charity that is very close to me. I was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type 1 when I was 5, but I’m very fortunate that I have a mild form that does not impact my life day to day. Neurofibromatosis is one of the most common neurogenetic conditions but there is very little awareness surrounding it. Hence, I have decided to run the London Marathon 2024 in support of all the amazing work this charity provides.
Neurofibromatosis is a dominant genetic condition, which means that it can be passed on in families from one generation to the next through genetic inheritance. Similarly, about half of nerve tumour cases recorded have no previous family history of the condition. In other words, it can occur totally “out of the blue”.
Please support this amazing charity and help me make a difference to many peoples lives.
