Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajioun. Our dear and beloved sister and friend, Amani Liaquat has returned to her Lord. Amani bravely battled a terminal and aggressive, grade 4 glioblastoma for 22 months. Despite her pain and suffering, Amani vowed to raise awareness of this disease which unfortunately, receives very little research funding in the U.K. She became a guiding light and inspiration to thousands as she campaigned for Brain Tumour Research, raising both critical funds and awareness. Through her podcast series, she shared her journey with us all. She became a comfort to those on the same journey as her, and an educator to the general public on brain tumour/cancer - highlighting the stark gap in funding, proactively campaigning for medical research and raising vital funds. As her story reached both mainstream and local media, she used the platform to secure interviews with high profile figures like Omar Suleiman and Tom Parker to elevate her story further. Subhan’Allah for the impact she was able to have and may it serve heavy on the scales for her attaining the most beautiful, eternal abode in Jannah Al Firdous. Ameen.

Today we mourn her loss but celebrate how in her short but beautiful life, Amani achieved more than we will in a lifetime. Amani was a change-maker, an inspiration, a. beautiful warrior whose legacy will live on far longer than was written for her. May her memory be a blessing and all the work she did a sadaqah jaariyah for her. Ameen.

Amani touched the lives of thousands, and today we have the opportunity to contribute to her life in the eternal hereafter. When Amani was diagnosed, she made a heartfelt plea to build a masjid in her name once she passed away. The Messenger of Allah, Muhammad (SAWS) said, " Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build a house like it in paradise." (Bukhari 450, Muslim 533).

Today, we are fundraising for a Masjid in Amani's name, as per the request of Amani herself we are also fundraising for water well and a school to be build in her name inshaa’Allaah . Please donate whatever you can towards this act of sadaqah jaariyah for Amani. May you be rewarded in this life and the next for your contribution. And may our sister, Amani reap its benefits.
