Every Ramadhan Lantern hold iftars for women to come together in love and sisterhood. Last year we were sadly unable to do so, and will not be able to this year due to the pandemic.
Whilst we are unable to be together in person, we want to invite you to join us in supporting some of the most marginalised in our community this Ramadhan.
Please help us raise the funds to support two local causes:
1. There are currently around 170 asylum seekers living in temporary/contingency accommodation in Luton. These are people who have fled awful conditions and will have experienced significant trauma. Their current accommodation, particularly in the context of the pandemic, has left many of them isolated, with little recourse to local amenities. We want to gift each person/family with a hamper of treats for Eid.
2. We want to donate funds to Luton Clothing Bank (run by The Courtney Foundation) to purchase undergarments for women experiencing financial difficulty in Luton. Thousands of preloved clothes are redistributed through the clothing bank to individuals and families who need them, and we want to make sure that underwear is available to them too.
