Story
Every year, for more years than we can remember, Lamplighters has held a Christmas fundraiser. It’s started as a book and jigsaw puzzle sale and has developed into a Christmas fair making over £2000 in the hour that it runs for!
It always happens on the 3rd Friday in November, for a lot of people it is the start of their Christmas. Not only does it raise money for The Leprosy Mission, it’s a great chance for the community to get together, have fun and buy some great Christmas gifts! We collect items all during the year so we have plenty to sell on the night, every penny really does count.
Like most events this year, we have had to cancel The Christmas Fair. While We are really disappointed that we won’t get to enjoy this great event, but our thoughts are with those affected by leprosy around the world facing increasingly difficult circumstances.
We decided that this year, we would ask people to carry the spirit of the Christmas Fair with them and think of small fundraising ideas they could do at home or in their bubbles . This might be making Christmas cards, making jam, hosting a virtual quiz night, any small thing that may raise funds that could go towards the Christmas Fair fundraising total.
We can’t be together but we can still do great things.
Small acts. Big Love.
Thank you xx
