Story
In June, I will be taking part in the Dales Way Walk for Life, walking 80 miles from Ilkley to Bowness on Windermere in just 6 days. It promises to be a spectacular walk, crossing two of the world’s most renowned beauty spots, the National Parks of the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District.
This isn’t just a walk in the park, however. I’m doing it to raise money for SafeHands for Mothers, a UK charity whose vision is a world where no woman dies in pregnancy or childbirth and achieves this through the production of films.
I have been involved with SafeHands since the conception of the charity in 2002 and have been a Trustee for over 8 years. I am very proud and humbled to be part of what the charity has achieved over the past decade.
All the funds raised from the Dales Way Walk for Life will support SafeHands for Mothers’ mission to improve maternal and newborn health, and achieve its vision of a world where no woman dies in pregnancy or childbirth. Find out more about SafeHands’ work on their website www.safehands.org
