Story

I have been given the huge honour of being Lady Captain 2020/21 at Wimbledon Park Golf Club.  At the start of my Lady Captaincy year, I drove off on 1st March 2020 and for then sadly no further golf until 13th May due to Lockdown.   However part of my new role is raising funds for this wonderful Charity, The Brompton Fountain, which was a very easy choice for me.

The Royal Brompton Hospital saved the life of my eldest son, Louis nearly 25 years ago.  Louis had a 7 hour Open Heart operation when he was 5 days old followed by two weeks in Intensive Care.  He is now incredibly fit and is Europe's No.1 Pickleball player and has a Golf handicap of 2.

The Brompton Fountain are still in URGENT need of vital MEDICAL EQUIPMENT & RESOURCES for Babies, Children, Adults, Relatives.  We also wish to support their incredible Staff through this horrific pandemic.

I have completed a number of Challenges and hope to continue during the year.  More to follow.

On Friday 18th June 2021, Beverly Clark, Elaine Halligan, Lesley Laws and myself played 54 holes in one day!  We played in the worst and most torrential heavy rain possible  starting at Wimbledon Park GC, then Royal Wimbledon GC and finishing at Surbiton GC.  It was an unbelievable challenge filled with memories that none of us will ever forget.

On 12th May 2021, my golfing partner Beverly and I beat the Captain and Pro in the Captain/Pro Challenge on 15th hole.

A recent one was inspired by Captain Tom. The WPGC Captain and I each had to sink 100 x 6' putts, which we did.

Ladies at WPGC celebrated The Wimbledon Ladies Tennis Final with the "Millennium Madness" competition.  48 Ladies dressed in their "Wimbledon" themed.  A wonderful celebration.

Another one was the Odd/Wild/Colourful Socks Challenge, which was fun and completely unusual for WPGC.

My wonderful friend who has recently had a major operation walked 5k a few days after coming out of hospital.  She nominated me to do the same and I THANK YOU very much for walking 5k also for joining the challenge for The Brompton Fountain.

Louis inspired me to participate in the 2.6 Challenge.  I did 26 squats and changed into 26 brightly coloured outfits on the 26th & I now have 26 aches!

Unbelievably,  I have now had 4.6k views, please highlight & copy link :https://bit.ly/carolyns26challenge - Facebookhttps://bit.ly/carolyn26challenge - Instagram

I appreciate everyone has their own Charity to support and am truly thankful if you are also able to support The Brompton Fountain

My theme for this year is Summer Sunshine.  Positive Vibes.
