Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We hope that you are enjoying the LXD course and are getting a lot out of it to help you adapt to this new world. We would normally charge for this course but are continuing to offer it for free as part of our Covid19 help package. Instead, we are asking you to give a voluntary donation, however big or small, to our chosen charity this month - The Flying Seagull Project:

The Flying Seagull Project is a small UK-based charity which spreads love, light and laughter to hospitals, orphanages, deaf/blind schools, marginalised communities, refugee camps and slums around the world.

They believe that it is everyone – adult or child’s – right to put aside the cares of life and smile for a while. They work with groups across the world to help bring smiles and happiness to people, whether as Clown Doctors for children undergoing difficult medical treatments or through games, arts, music and crafts workshops and circus shows.

In the past 9 years they have delivered over 3000 shows to 82,000 people, providing relief in the very darkest of times.

Why do they do it?

Play is important. It helps us develop mentally and physically. It strengthens social bonds and reaches across isolation. It makes the world a happier, better place.

But where safety, food or shelter are lacking, where poverty forces children into labour or where illness or disability or social exclusion shrink the world into a daily struggle, play can seem a luxury.

The Flying Seagull project aims to give those in need the opportunity to play and laugh and to plant a seed to let their happiness grow.
