Story
In 2022 we are fundraising as a group to purchase and install a bench here in Newcastle dedicated to all our loved ones. Somewhere members can go to sit and remember but also to encourage others who sit on it to talk about grief or the people they've lost.
The charity Let’s Talk About Loss supports young people aged
18-35 who are bereaved and provides a safe space to talk about that loss in a fun, relaxed environment. It was set up by Beth French after she lost her mum at the age of 20 and grief made her feel lonely and confused. Let’s Talk About Loss was set up to to create a space where grief wasn’t a taboo subject.
Today our Newcastle group is one of over 30 meetup groups across
the country where young people can come together. Whilst every member has their own stories, we share a lot of common thoughts and feelings.
Groups like this remind people they are not alone.
We want to encourage more of these conversations and a future where talking about grief and loss is welcomed and so over the coming months we will be sharing with you the stories of our loved ones lost.
Thank you so much for taking the time to visit this page and for supporting our group. This fundraiser is in memory of and dedicated to all of our loved ones named below and anyone who's ever felt alone in their grief:
